Beacon Bank and its associated foundation allocated more than $460,000 to nonprofit organizations between July and September 2026. The financial support was distributed to over 150 groups operating in Vermont, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts.

The bank, formerly known as Berkshire Bank, maintains five branches in Vermont. Locations are in Manchester (two branches), Rutland, Arlington, and Ludlow. James J. Morris IV, the bank’s president for the Vermont region, stated that the local community’s strength depends on daily efforts to improve living and working conditions.

Morris said the institution is committed to supporting organizations that create opportunities, meet critical needs, and make a lasting difference. The bank categorizes its charitable giving into three primary areas: neighborhood revitalization and preservation, education, and critical services.

Specific recipients for the third quarter of 2026 included the Council on Aging for Southeastern Vermont Incorporated and Rutland Neighbors Inc. Funding also went to the Stratton Mountain School & Ski Foundation Inc. and VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region Inc. Wonderfeet Kids Museum also received a grant from the bank.

Beacon Bank operates as a subsidiary of Beacon Financial Corporation, which is headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts. The company lists $21.9 billion in total assets. It operates more than 145 branches throughout New England and New York, providing commercial, retail, and consumer banking products.
