Four people were hospitalized on Saturday night after a vehicle fired shots outside a licensed premises in Loganholme, Queensland.

Queensland police received the call at 8.15 p.m. and found the four injured individuals at the scene, which they described as confronting. Officers observed the vehicle leaving the location before the shooters disappeared.

Logan mayor Jon Raven told the Today show that residents were frightened by the event. He described the venue as a family-friendly environment where many children are present. Raven stated that the incident sent a shockwave through the community because such an event had not occurred in Logan previously.

The venue, Fitzys Loganholme on Bryants Road, was hosting the Logan City Titles Fight Night. The event was organized to help steer children away from violence. Raven noted that the organizer uses boxing to empower young people who might be going off the rails, making the shooting the opposite of the intended outcome.

Logan City Titles posted a statement on social media on Sunday morning. The group said they were heartbroken by the incident and described the event as one that showcases local talent and hard work inside the ring. The statement added that such incidents have no place in the boxing community or the broader community.

Police said the offenders remain at large. They do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

The four victims were taken to hospital where their conditions were being assessed. Police deputy commander Chris Stream confirmed that a number of people suffered gunshot wounds during the incident.
