Boston Summit Focuses on Scaling Realities
TechCrunch Founder Summit 2026 features leaders from Toast and Bessemer discussing operational restraint and local growth strategies.

The startup ecosystem in Boston is moving beyond Silicon Valley imitation as a primary model for success. On November 4, TechCrunch will host its Founder Summit 2026 at the SoWa Power Station in Boston. The event is a full-day program co-hosted with Fidelity Private Shares. It targets founders, investors, and operators who face strategic decisions before clear answers exist.
The agenda addresses operational realities rather than just fundraising or artificial intelligence. Sessions cover customer acquisition, team construction, and leadership development. A central theme is the tension between growth and restraint. Kent Bennett, a partner at Bessemer Venture Partners, will lead a session on finding product market fit before scaling. He will discuss the signals founders should observe before increasing headcount or spending. Rudina Seseri, founder and managing partner of Glasswing Ventures, will examine when to accelerate and when to pause to protect a business.
Local industry leaders will share insights on building companies outside traditional hubs. Steve Fredette, president and co-founder of Toast, will speak on the Impact Stage. His session will explore how a business evolves while maintaining its original customer focus. Toast has grown from a local startup into a public company. Chase Garbarino, CEO and co-founder of HqO, will present a playbook for scaling in Boston. He will address talent, capital, and community resources available in the city.
Artificial intelligence will be treated as a foundational architecture rather than an add-on. Lior Div, CEO and co-founder of 7AI, will present a session on building companies from day one for AI. He will distinguish between integrating AI into existing processes and designing a company around the technology. This approach affects the underlying operating model and technical structure.
Pitching skills remain a critical component of the program. Dave Balter, a venture partner at True Ventures and CEO of Edisyl, will lead a session on earning the next conversation through effective pitching. A live competition later in the day will allow founders to present to a panel of investors. The panel will include Chirag Shah of Define Ventures and Simran Suri of Maveron. Attendees will hear immediate feedback from these investors.
Additional sessions address specific strategic challenges. Hunter Worland of NEA will discuss distribution as a competitive advantage. Vineet Edupuganti, co-founder and CEO of Cogent Security, will speak on building high-performing teams. Tina Tosukhowong of TDK Ventures will identify hidden signals that indicate category winners. Fidelity Private Shares will contribute sessions on fundraising trends and enterprise relationships. The day concludes with roundtables, networking, and a reception.
TechCrunch is offering registration incentives for the event. A 25 percent discount is available for tickets purchased ahead of time. A buy-one-get-one deal is also included in the pre-registration offer.
