The St. Louis Blues defeated the Boston Bruins 4-1 on Thursday night to end a long scoring drought. The victory improved their record against Boston at home, where they had gone 0-3-3 in their last six meetings since June 3, 2019.

Robert Thomas and Philip Broberg each tallied a goal and two assists. Jimmy Snuggerud and Jake Neighbours added power-play markers. Joel Hofer stopped 31 shots for St. Louis, while Boston's Jeremy Swayman faced 14 shots.

James Hagens gave the visitors an early lead. He deflected a shot by Casey Mittelstadt into the net at 5:28 of the first period. St. Louis answered at 15:43. Jimmy Snuggerud scored a one-timer from the left faceoff circle to tie the game at 1-1. That goal ended a 138-minute, 38-second scoreless streak for the Blues.

Philip Broberg put St. Louis ahead 2-1 at 5:17 of the second period. He received a pass from Connor McMichael behind the net and slid a wrist shot past the right post. Robert Thomas extended the lead to 3-1 at 12:08. He took a pass from Justin Barron at the blue line and fired a high shot from the slot. Jake Neighbours added an insurance goal at 12:42 of the third period on the power play.

Thomas's assist moved Brian Sutter to sole possession of fourth place on the franchise's all-time list. Both teams return to action on Saturday. The Bruins will host the Chicago Blackhawks, and the Blues will travel to Detroit to face the Red Wings.
