Apple Widens Dual Camera to Group Calls in iOS 27.2
The update, arriving next week, also splits the Podcasts queue and brings viewer profiles to the iPhone TV app for the first time.

Apple will ship iOS 27.2 next week, extending a camera feature first released in one-on-one calls to group video sessions. The update follows iOS 27.1, which 9to5Mac reports was limited to the iPhone Duo, making 27.2 the release for the wider iPhone base.
Dual Capture, introduced with iOS 27 and described at the time as one of the biggest FaceTime upgrades in years, shows front and rear camera views together on compatible models. Tapping the Flip button moves the rear camera to the main view while the front camera stays active. That behavior applies to one-on-one calls under iOS 27; iOS 27.2 carries it into Group FaceTime calls.
The update also reworks Apple Podcasts. The Up Next queue at the top of the Home tab splits into two parts: New Episodes, which collects the latest releases from followed shows, and Continue Playing, a new section beneath it for series a listener began but has not finished. A 9to5Mac writer who tested the change in the beta said the layout helps track listening more easily. The same writer had previously called the old Up Next cluttered and confusing.
The third feature puts profiles in the Apple TV app on iPhone, where they did not exist before; profiles have been available on tvOS. Opening the app after the update presents a profile selection screen, which users can switch off. Once profiles run, the app surfaces content and recommendations for the chosen viewer, and a child profile limits results to age-appropriate series and movies from Apple.
9to5Mac reports the profile setup separates an adult's viewing queue from material shown on a parent's phone, so children do not come across unsuitable titles. The outlet also states iOS 27.2 adds new features across six iPhone apps in total.
