The Revere High boys soccer team entered the first edition of the Greater Boston League Cup on Tuesday as the top seed, carrying a perfect 7-0 league record. The Patriots faced Everett, the fourth-place team in the GBL, in the opening round of the new tournament format.

The GBL Cup was created after the league’s athletic directors voted to change the season structure. Schools now meet each other only once during the regular season rather than twice. The top four teams advance to a championship bracket, while the lower four teams compete in a separate preliminary-final bracket. The winner of the Revere and Everett match will play the victor of Chelsea and Somerville on Thursday to determine the inaugural cup champion.

Coach Gerardo Rodriguez’s squad improved its overall record to 12-1-1 following two wins last week. The Patriots beat Somerville 3-2 on Tuesday and defeated Brockton 3-1 on Friday. Those victories extended Revere’s unbeaten streak to 13 games, dating back to a 3-2 loss to Central Catholic in the season opener in early September.

Revere currently holds the 14th spot in MIAA Division 2 power ratings. That ranking guarantees the Patriots a home game in the opening round of the state tournament, which begins after the GBL Cup concludes.

The Revere High boys cross country team finished the 2026 dual-meet season with a 26-29 victory over Everett last Wednesday. Kosta Stamotopoulos and Diogo Yogi finished first and second, with times of 17:22 and 17:26, respectively. Luke Imperato ran in 19:34, Emanuel Taylor in 19:54, and Javier Lopez in 22:18 to secure the win for Revere.

The girls soccer team moved closer to a MIAA Division 3 state tournament berth with a 2-0 win at Lowell on Friday. The Lady Patriots improved to 8-7-1 and need one point from their final two games to secure the .500 record required for postseason qualification. They will play in the GBL Cup consolation bracket this week, facing Lynn Classica and then either Everett or Lynn English.

The girls volleyball team requires three wins in its final three matches to reach .500 and qualify for the state tournament. The Lady Patriots dropped to 7-10 after losses to Malden, Somerville, and Beverly last week. They host Lynn Classical on Wednesday and travel to Medford on Friday.

The girls cross country team competed in the GBL Championship meet on Wednesday at Torbert Macdonald Park in Medford. Emma DeCrosta ran a 7:58 pace over the three-mile course, breaking the eight-minute per mile barrier. Jaelyn Torres and Afomiya Wondemagegnhu also set personal records, dropping about 45 seconds per mile from their previous bests.
