Bayern Munich has lost two players to injury after Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga. Midfielder Ismael Saibari tore a ligament in his right ankle and underwent surgery on Sunday. Forward Serge Gnabry also suffered a left hamstring injury, according to a brief club statement.
The club did not provide a timeline for either player’s return. Saibari, who played for Morocco in the World Cup and joined Bayern from PSV Eindhoven during the tournament, required assistance from two members of the medical staff to leave the field. He was injured after colliding with Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel.
French winger Michael Olise also left the match early with an injury. He lay on the grass covering his face before requesting a substitution, though the club has not yet issued an update on his condition. Colombian forward Luis Díaz sat out the match due to a thigh complaint, while veteran goalkeeper Manuel Neuer missed the game because of a foot problem.
These absences add to concerns about Bayern’s squad depth. The team faces Atlético Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday.
